Travelling with Essential Oils

Travelling, especially abroad, is when essential oils become truly essential.
Is it legal to fly with oils? Absolutely. You can carry on whatever you can fit in a quart size bag as long as all containers are under 3.4 oz individually.
In your checked bags you can bring as much as you like.
TIP: Make sure all your lids are screwed on tight and that you have all bottles packed in Zip-loc bags and an uncrushable case of some kind. FACT: Most high quality oils come in 5 & 15 milliliter bottles. There are about 30 milliliters to an ounce. 5/8 dram bottles, like the ones in the picture are about 2 ml. You want to carry the highest quality oils possible since a little goes a long way.
Recently I spent 3 weeks in Mexico on a very small island. I flew with my handy carry case that fits sixty 2 milliliter vials in my carry-on, just in case something happened to my checked bag, and of course because we need them on flights that can be, let's face it, hot, smelly and germy.
I actually sold 3 Peppermints on the plane after sharing with my seat mates. We were instantly refreshed during our warm wait on the way to the runway.
In my checked bag I brought concentrates and empty spray bottles to make Cooling Mist and Cooling Bug Spray. This was Mexico in June after all.
I also brought about twenty 15ml bottles of the my favorite oils and blends that I knew would save the day and keep the party going. That's way more than the average person needs, but I knew I would be meeting a lot of people. Since my Spanish is halting at best, it was a fun way to connect with the locals and tourists alike. It's always great to have enough to share!
